The Lucky Third Students

Let's face it! when graduation day comes to graduate high school everyone's happy and excited because now they have the freedom to be independent and do whatever they want to do and form their own path. For some of those who just graduated from high school and can't wait to go to college thinks it's going to be like they watched on television but in reality it's kind of the opposite. A new study by Lynn O'Shaughnessy says that one third of students are able to graduate within a six year mark. I will probably one of those student who makes the four year mark.

Everyone wants to graduate within four year, nobody wants to be in college until they are like 40 or so, but for that to happen they got to have the drive and determination. A lot of people can understand that sometimes life happens and maybe some of those life situations can make you unable to graduate within the four year mark. For each person or individual it could be many different things, like work ethics, family issues or financial situations. Not everyone learn in  the same way or pace as everyone else and you might even ask yourself, why is the margin so thin? Why is it only one third of students graduate within the four year mark? The research the Department of Education had collected was for first time-full time students only.

The Department of Education has just recently started collecting data for graduation. For students that just graduated high school and heading straight to college, the data shows that only 52.8% graduate within four year, while the percentage is 65.4% for people that earn their degree in six years. The Department of Education changed things up where they now include all the institutions success rates, no matter what the status of the student is. Maybe this changed might boost students determination to graduate within four year or at least attempt to.

I will do whatever I could to graduate within four year but looking at how small the graduation is I would probably give up by now, but I hate failing. You can always wonder why it take some people so long to graduate even though help are available to them such as free internet access, libraries and sometimes even teachers can help whenever they can, don't forget they also have tutors (AEC) as they say it in Georgia Gwinnett College. After all that the only thing that matter to why someone take so long to graduate is their reason(s) and it does not matter to you as long as you focus and do what have to do to graduate.
